Struttura base degli emetti MKII WWII - Fregi

Qualche esempio di fregio su elmetti MKII. Questa sezione non ha l'ambizione di presentare tutti i fregi possibili per gli MKII ma la voglia sarebbe tanta :).
I fregi vennero abbondantemente utilizzati nella seconda guerra mondiale dai soldati inglesi e canadesi e, almeno da quanto è noto ad oggi, non utilizzati dai neozelandesi durante le campagne d'Africa e d'Italia. Occasionalmente compaiono nel mercato elmetti MKII sudafricani con fregi di vario tipo ma ad oggi non c'è documentazione certa sull'effettivo utilizzo.

ATTENZIONE! Fregi divisionali

Non si è a conoscenza fino ad oggi di foto d'epoca, filmati, testimonianze, ritrovamenti da scavo, lasciti museali, ritrovamenti certi al 100%, di elmetti MKII inglesi, canadesi, sudafricani o neozelandesi che abbiano fregi divisionali o di armata che abbiano combattuto in Nord Africa o in Italia. Puntualmente compaiono sul mercato, e putroppo girano od hanno girato nelle collezioni di tutti noi, elmetti con questi famigerati fregi, spesso fatti malamente, altre volte più decentemente, ma che aimè non hanno sembrerebbero ad oggi non avere nessuna corrispondenza storica. Ma quali sono questi fregi divionali che stimolano la fantasia di non poche persone? Di seguito due classici, tra i tanti, da evitare.

ATTENZIONE! Gradi da ufficiale o sottoufficiale

Occasionalmente appaoiono sul mercato elmetti MKII, tipicamente sudafricani, con fregi laterali o frontali da ufficiale o sottoufficiale dell'esercito. Questi fregi, quasi sempre buoni e coevi all'elmetto sono però riconducibili ad usi post. Anche in questo caso nulla è certo ma ad oggi non sono note, come per i casi precendeti, foto d'epoca, filmati, ritrovamenti da scavo o certi al 100% che possano testimoniare l'usanza di fregiare elmetti MKII in periodo bellico con gradi da ufficiale o sottoufficiale. Caso differente è innvece la Royal Navy dove l'usanza di applicare questo tipo di fregi, solitamente frontalmente, è cosa nota e testimoniata ampliamente nelle foto d'epoca.
